A point charge +qbis placed in front of earthed conducting sphere of radius R. Determine by the method electrical images.

(i) the magnitude and position of the image charge

(ii) the electric potential and electric field at any exterior point

(iii) the electric field at a point on the surface of the sphere

(iv) the surface density of charge on the sphere

(v) the force of attraction between the charge +q and the sphere.
