A lossy capacitor is tested with a Schering bridge circuit. Balance is obtained with the capacitor under test in one arm, the succeeding arms being, a non-reactive resistor of 369? in parallel with a capacitor of 0.5 ?F and a standard capacitor of 109 ??F. The supply frequency is 50 Hz. Calculate from the equation series capacitance and power factor (at 50 Hz) of the capacitor under test.
