1. Jake is going to the Crazy Carnival. He has a choice to buy an entry ticket for $5 and then pay $2 per ride. Or, he can buy a daily pass for $25 total. This ticket covers the entry fee AND as many rides as he wants.

a. Write an equation that represents the amount of money he would spend based on the number of rides if he buys the $5 entry ticket. Let c represent the cost. Let r represent the number of rides. (2 points)
2*r+5=c
b. Write a second equation that represents the amount of money he would spend if he decided to buy the daily pass. (2 points)

2. If 2x + 5y = 21 and x + y = 3, then what is the value of x? It is your choice to use either substitution or elimination, but you must show your work.

3. Graph the following linear equations on the graph below. Then circle the ordered pair that represents the solution of this system of equations. y = - x + 6 and y = x – 2. (4 points)
