An alternating current when passed through a resistance immersed in water for 5 minutes, just raised the temperature of water to boiling point. When a direct current of 4mperes was passed through the same resistance under identical conditions it took 8 minutes to boil the water. Find the r.m.s. value of the alternating curret.
