1. A farmer decides to fence a 400m by 350m paddock with a 4-strand wire fence. Find the total cost of the wire required given that single strand wire costs 12.4 cents per metre.

2. A machine makes circular paper plates of circumference 50cm. Find the diameter of a plate correct to the nearest mm.

A satellite has a circular orbit 800km above the surface of the Earth. The radius of the Earth is 6400km and the satellite must complete exactly 14 orbits in one day.

b. How fast must it be moving?
