So, in my art class, one of the requirements on a grading paper (rubric) we got back with our assignments is to fill up the whole page. That's right, you have to fill up the whole page to get a 100. I find that ridiculous. This has happened with 2 art teachers I've had, and I've been baffled on how they grade things. I've drawn these awesome things, detailed pictures, but the art teacher will snub it off because it's not big. I can draw a photo realistic flower, that only fills up a portion of the middle of the paper, while a kid next to me will draw a stick figure family, that fills up the whole page, and he'll get praise, a 100, and the teacher will invite Barack Obama over to congratulate him on his success. They should grade art based on the creativity, the fun, and the over all work that was put into the drawing. I'm very passionate of art, and I am really displeased to see the teachers grading this way. I do respect the art teachers, and actually find them entertaining and interesting, but this really bugs me haha. Can I please hear other people's input on this? Thanks for reading, and stopping by. Have a good one. (I'm in 8th grade by the way.)
