Homework: grade 7, equations?



 



I'm thirteen and got held back last year, math is one of the important subjects to pass.



I'm confused with two.



-12X+4=52



and 14X-14=-42



I'm confused with the '-' (ignore the quotes)

On the first one, do I turn the minus into a plus? And the second one, do I turn the minus into a plus again, or not? Lol.



Sorry if I'm stupid. I'm just so far gone. Lol.
