How to Draw a Stress Element?

How to Draw a Stress Element?

Hi all, I have an engineering question for those who know how to go about this issue.

This is not for homework, but for a proposition I am developing for the sponsoring of a design project.

I am trying to draw the stress element of a solid cylindrical rod under a bending moment, a torque moment (about its longitudinal axis), and an external pressure on all sides. Looking on google I only find pressure vessels with their stress elements, but I don't find solid cylindrical rods. how would I make the stress element for something under external pressure? I am mostly concerned with the pressure aspect. the bending and torsion I understand, and once I am able to understand how the pressure will come into play I will have the concept down. It may seem as something too elementary to be posted on google, but I would like it if someone could explain it to me or post a link to an explanation if it is known off the top of the head.

Once I can figure it out I can continue with a (corrected) fatigue analysis of the cylindrical rod and calculate stress factors under worst-case scenarios.

Thanks in advance!
