Online Accounting firms: are they reliable?

I am self-employed and have been doing my tax returns without an accountant for 10 years. As a result, there are many expenses that I don't claim back because I'm afraid of making mistakes, e.g. claiming a percentage of my rent or utility bills as I also work from home (private tutoring, IT support/training).



Regular accounting firms can charge up to £400 per year which it's a bit steep, but I have read about online accounting firms that charge a set fee far less than £400.

Does anyone uses them? Which online accounting firms are well recommended and reliable?
