Help with Chemistry Homework?

Hello! I need a lot of help with Chemistry. I can't say I understand it, simply because I'm trying to learn from a teacher who failed his 'profession'. So, if you would please help me on the following questions, I would really appreciate it.

1-13) Could you tell me the number of Valence Electrons in Calcium and Chlorine, and explain how you get them? I wont make you do all thirteen of them, seeing as I need to learn myself.

14. How do you find the number of Valence electrons in an atom?

15. What are the valence electrons used for?

16. Why do Fluorine, Chlorine, Bromine, and Iodine have the same number of Valence Electrons?

17. Will Fluorine, Chlorine, Bromine, and Iodine have similar bonding properties?

26. Order Nitrogen, Oxygen, Fluorine, and Lithium from highest to lowestelectronegativity.

27. Order Hydrogen, Sodium, Potassium, and Lithium from largest to smallest atom size.

Use the following four atoms for the next set of questions 28-35.

Potassium, Strontium, Calcium, Rubidium

28. Which atom is the largest?

29. Which atom is the smallest?

30. Which atom has the highest electronegativity?

31. Which atom has the smallest electronegitivity?

32. Which atom will make the smallest ion?

33. Which atom will make the largest ion?

34. Which atom has the highest ionization energy?

35. Which atom has the lowest ionization energy?

Use the following four atoms for the next set of questions 36-43.

Fluorine, Argon, Chlorine, Neon

36. Which atom is the largest?

37. Which atom is the smallest?

38. Which atom has the highest electronegativity?

39. Which atom has the smallest electronegitivity?

40. Which atom will make the smallest ion?

41. Which atom will make the largest ion?

42. Which atom has the highest ionization energy?

43. Which atom has the lowest ionization energy?

I know this is a lot, and I'm sorry, but my teacher isn't explaining this to me at all. Please, instead of sending me some link that is supposed to 'help', try and actually answer some of these questions. I would really appreciate it, and thank you so much in advance.
