A long cart with a rough top surface rests adjacent to a frictionless ramp. The cart's mass is M = 4 kg. A block m = 1 kg is placed on the ramp so that it is h = 0.05 meters above the surface of the cart. The block is released from rest.

(a) How fast does the block move when it reaches the horizontal section of the ramp (just before sliding onto the cart)?

(b) How fast do the block-and-cart move when the block stops sliding across the top of the cart?
