Aerospace Engineering or Physics and Mathematics?

Physics and Mathematics would no question be my preferred choice as I think it'd be able to hold my interest forever, but I understand that employment prospects for Engineers is far higher.

If I were to do a degree in Physics and Mathematics, how complicated would it be to work as an engineer? What are the best career paths that follow from a Physics degree?

I'd be doing a MSci/MPhys/MMathPhys were I to do Physics and Mathematics. Most postgraduate Engineering degrees (i.e. a one year MSc Advanced Aerospace Engineering) I've looked at say they require something along the lines of an Engineering/Science degree.
