Can smelling strep throat bacteria cause strep throat

In biology class today, we did a lab using strep throat bacteria and hepatitis A. When the strep throat bottle was open, I could smell a strong scent and I didn't inhale it directly, but I definately smelled it. I wore gloves and washed my hands really good, but all day I've been having a sore throat now! I don't know if its my mind thinking I may have contracted the virus or if I really did catch it. I'm going crazy!! Is it possible to get strep by just smelling the bacteria?? Thanks :)
