I need help with these algebra questions?



Question: 1



So I have an algebra test tomorrow and our teacher gave us practice assignments (the test from the year before). The first question is:



a) A man plants p packets of tulips each packet holds 9 bulbs. Write an expression for the number of tulip bulbs he planted



b) He also has 6 packets of daffodils which holds t bulbs in each packet. When he opens them, he finds 3 bulbs are mouldy and cannot be used, but he plants the rest. Write an expression for the number of daffodils he plants.



c) If he planted 51 daffodils and 81 tulips. Use this information to form an equation. Solve this equation to find out how many

i) Daffodil bulbs in each packet

ii) tulip packets he purchased.

In a fishing competition Dan's fished weighed x kg. Jim's fish were twice as heavy as Dan's fish



a) Use x to write and expression for the total weight of Jim's fish



b) Write an expression for the total weight of the two fish. Simplify this expression.



c) The two fish weigh 4.8 kg. Write an equation using this information and solve it.



d) If both fish together weigh 4.8 kg, how heavy is Dan's fish and how heavy is Jim's fish. Show your working.

If anyone can explain how to do these to and give me the answer, I will be very very thankful. I have searched everywhere for help on this but I haven't found anything.
