You are trying to decide whether to take the train or the bus into the city from the same place.
The train takes longer but is more predictable than the bus because there are no traffic delays.
Both train and bus times are approximately Normally distributed:
Train time has mean 60 minutes with standard deviation of 2 minutes.
Bus time has mean 50 minutes with standard deviation of 8 minutes.

a) Set up a new variable to describe the distribution of times for the difference between the
train and bus times. Find the mean and standard deviation of this difference.
