You have a certain amount of liquid nitrogen at its melting point (63.15 K) under atmospheric pressure. If the temperature increases to the boiling point (77.36 K), its new volume is 0.037 m3. How much heat is needed to raise it from the melting point to the boiling point, convert it to a gas, and raise it to room temperature (288 K)?
• Density of liquid nitrogen at 77.36 K is 807 kg/m3
• Latent Heat of Vaporization for liquid nitrogen = 199.1 kJ/kg
• Specific Heat of liquid nitrogen = 2.042 kJ/(kg°C)
• Specific Heat of nitrogen gas = 1.04 kJ/(kg°C)
