Biology: Would alien life likely be similar to earthly life?

I'm asking in Biology section because while aliens may refer to other planets out in space, the main focus is on the biological structure of living organisms.

We know of no Non-DNA/RNA life, but then again that's because all life on earth is related.

But considering that it's very, very likely there is other life out there in the universe, and most, if not all, of it will be unrelated to earthly life, totally separate chains of reproduction.

So if life formed elsewhere in the universe, do you think it would have to be made of cells or is it at all realistic to think there could other building blocks of life and that cells are unique to earth? Or does life in general require to be composed of cells?

Same for DNA/RNA.

And lastly, is it possible that there are species out there that are totally different from the animal/plant organisms?
