1. A bottle is thrown horizontally from a train at right angle to the train’s velocity. It hits the ground at a point that is z1 below, y1 afar (in perpendicular direction) and x1 afar (in the direction along the velocity of the train) from the point of throw.
(a) Calculate the time of fall, the speed of the train, the initial velocity of the bottle, and the speed of the bottle as it hits the ground. Neglect air resistance.

To this point, the air resistance of the bottle was not considered. The air resistance is such that it produces a deceleration of the bottle of ad = c0*v^3 in x- and y-direction. The deceleration in z-direction can be neglected as the velocity is very small.
(b) Recalculate the time of fall.
(c) Determine the velocity of the bottle as a function of time. Assume the initial velocity to be given.
(d) Assuming that the final velocity of the bottle is the same as in part (a), what is the initial velocity of the bottle and the speed of the train?

2. A ski jumper is driving on a jump with the velocity vx
(a) Determine time t when he lands.
(b) Determine the distance x.
*given:
height of the hill = h
distance traveled after jumping = x
no angle determined

3. A ball is falling into the sea with v0. Due to this it brakes with a = c*v^3.
(c) Determine the velocity v of the ball as a function of time.
(d) Determine the position s of the ball as a function of time.
*given:
velocity of the ball during sinking = v
distance from the ball to the ground = s
