1. If cells were at the equilibrium potential before and after depolarisation, what would be the change in membrane potential caused by high potassium treatment? 
2. What intracellular signalling pathways might be activated by KCl and depolarisation? 
3. What are other ways that depolarisation can cause differentiation signals? The effects of cell density are important in this case. 
4. What intracellular signalling pathway might be activated by forskolin? How might these pathways and those activated by depolarisation lead to differentiation? 
5. What processes would differentiation be important in and how might a better understanding of differentiation help in the treatment of human disease?
