How do I know what to shade in in a simple pedigree?

The trait is folded hands (right thumb over left, left over right). The instructions given explain that genotypes GG and Gg (dominant) expressed your left thumb on top of your right thumb when your hands are folded. The recessive genotype 'gg' is when your right thumb is over your left thumb. 

I have filled out my pedigree however I don't understand what to shade. My teacher told us that shaded boxes/circles means the trait is expressed, but how should I know whether it is the left over right that is the one to be shaded or the right over the left is. 

The instructions does not explain which is the one being expressed. Isn't there not enough information to know which one to shade in this case? Thank you, sorry for the long post.
