I want my electric scooter to charge faster?

Today i bought an electric scooter from amazon. Its a cheap toy that goes 10mph for 40 minutes. it is good enough for my cause. The only problem is that the charge time takes 10 hours. That is not something i can live with. The charger is (and i only did electrical engineering for a few months in highschool so sorry if i dont know the names of these things) a kind of palm sized black box where the outlet plug is and then a plug into the scooter that is exactly like the kind i use to plug into speakers to charge them. the numbers on the black box are as follows: input: 120V~50/60Hz 0.5A output:24V and then a solid line over 3 dashed lines 0.5~0.8A Efficiency Level: V 
I would like to reduce the, best case scenario, to 20 mins of charge but i understand that might not be possible because it would meet to much resistance. anything under 1 hour is do able but over is frankly unacceptable. I am willing to add an external battery as well but i wouldn't know how to add that either.
