Help with dissolution of ammonium chloride in water pH?

hey guys, I was wondering, for ammonium chloride, when you dissolve NH4Cl in water, it splits into its ions NH4+ and Cl-. Cl- doesn t react with water, but NH4+ reacts with water in an equilibrium reaction to form ammonium and H3O+. i.e. NH4+ + H2O <--> NH3 + H3O+, which makes a solution of NH4Cl acidic. My question is, is the dissolution of NH4Cl in water (the first step) an equilibrium reaction, or does it go to completion. i.e. is the reaction NH4Cl (aq) --> NH4+(aq) + Cl- (aq) reversible or not?
