1. Cellular respiration is a series of catabolic pathways that break down carbohydrates, such as glucose molecules, and free the energy that was holding the molecules together. 
(a) Discuss how the breaking down of pyruvate during fermentation ensures ATP production. 
(b) Discuss the disadvantages of anaerobic respiration when compared to aerobic respiration.
