Civil Engineering Paper?

My professor wants us to write a term paper, but I am having trouble coming up with a topic for it. These are the criteria 

I would like it to be related to civil engineering and with a sustainable aspect to it. It does not have to be a design exactly, it can also be a material or product used in civil engineering that is considered more sustainable than traditional options. It can also be something still considered exploratory and not standard procedure. Anything that can be related to promote better efficiency and longer lasting use of materials.
