VII. For the reaction,
2NO (g) + O2 (g) > 2NO2 (g),
ΔH° = -114.1 kJ and ΔS° = -146.54 J/K at 25 °C.

(a) What is the standard reaction free energy (or the change in free energy) for this reaction at 25 °C.
(b) What is the reaction free energy (or the change in free energy) at 700 °C? (Assume that ΔH° and ΔS° are unaffected by temperature changes.)
(c) Temperatures in an internal combustion engine approach 2500 °C. In the presence of an ample supply of oxygen, which nitrogen oxide (NO or NO2) is favored at that temperature?
(d) Which nitrogen oxide (NO or NO2) is favored at the temperature of the exhaust gases, approximately 50 °C?

I'm looking for explanations for (c) and (d). I have the answer key but I don't understand why NO is favored at 2500 oC temperature for (c) and why NO2 is favored at 50 oC for (d).
