A food processing facility dips fruit into boiling water (373 K) before canning. This 
generates wastewater that must be cooled to 293 K and then treated. The treatment 
process relies on microbes, and these organisms must be maintained at a certain 
temperature (293 K). A wastewater volume of 40 m3 is sent to a concrete tank (mass = 
42,000 kg and specific heat capacity = 0.93 kJ kg-1 K-1 
). Assuming no other heat losses 
to the surroundings, what is the temperature of the water after it equilibrates with the 
concrete? Will this be the correct temperature for the microbes?
