1. Using the following information, calculate the standard enthalpy of formation of solid calcium carbide.

CaC2(s) + 2 H2O(1) → Ca(OH)2(s) + C2H2(g)

(ΔH CaC2 = -59.8 kJ/mol ΔH C2H2 = -1030 kJ/mol)

2. Using the standard enthalpies of formation listed in your data sheet, calculate the standard enthalpy change for the overall reaction that occurs when ammonia is burned in air to form nitrogen dioxide gas and liquid water.
NH3(g) + O2(g) → NO2(g) + H2O(l) ΔH = ?

3. Using standard enthalpies of formation, calculate the heat of hydrogenation of acetylene gas, C2H4(g) , to form ethane gas. C2H4 + H2 → C2H6(g) ΔH = ?
