This structure of MIS defined as federation of functional sub-system. In this approach, each sub-system has been divided into four information system components, such as, transaction processing, operational control, management control, and strategic control information system. All the federations of functional sub-systems are well connected to perform their functions with assistance of MIS.


Each subsystem in the information system has come unique data files which are used to develop the database. The database has been controlled by the MIS work station and supplies all the necessary information to the concerned levels of organizational information systems centers. This is look like a matrix system of operations. This system maintains the common database, common software and common applications, which often serves multi-functions.
