Boys Radio Micrometer

It is combination of a moving coil galvanometer and a thermocouple. It consists of a single loop of silver wire A to the lower end of which two strips of antimony these bismuth are attached. The lower ends of these strips are soldered to a copper disc coated with lamp pieces of aowerful magnet with the help of a quartz fibre which alos carries a small mirror. M When heat radiation fall on the disc, thermoelectric current is produced in Sb-Bi thermocouple and the current flows through the selver wier A. The deflection produced in the galvanometer can be measured with a lamp and scale arrangement. This instrument is very sensitive to detect heat rations.
