The business organizations cannot survive and flourish in an unhealthy society. The company might be interested to see whiter the consumers are unintentionally harmed by the company by adding to the pollution of environment, adding to the social costs, excessive expenditure on packaging and promotion, not allowing consumers to known about the product quality and manufacturing, etc. Research is needed to be conducted on anti-pollution devices, consumerism, attitudes of consumers to package designs and promotional strategies, attitudes to company’s adding to social costs, etc. This area of research is gaining significance because of increasing consumer awareness. Chasmal coal mines disaster, Andhra Pradesh sea storm disaster, Union Carbide (Bhopal) methyl isocyanine gas leakage tragedy, industrial pollution of Ganga river and poisonous gas leakage in Sri Ram Fibres in New Delhi are a few examples of negligent corporate responsibility research. Had the researches on these issues been carried out, magnitude of disaster could have been lowered to a larger extent.
