Social objectives of a business denote its obligations to the investors, employees, customers, suppliers, government and the general public. The reasons for assumption of social obligations by the business have been discussed later in the chapter. However, in order to illustrate the social objectives of a business, we may list them follows:

(a)    high quality goods at fair prices to the customers,
(b)    creation of employment opportunities for the local people,
(c)    contribution towards development of local community life,
(d)    generating facilities for spread of literacy, health services, etc. and
(e)    pursuing fair trade practices.
